Graduating from Swansea University with a degree in computer science, Ithel was awarded the Bosch Prize in computer science for best final year project, and became one of the first patent attorneys to hold a pure computer science degree in the UK within the profession.
With over 20 years’ experience of advising on the patentability of software at the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO), his patent filings cover a broad spectrum of computing technologies, from telecommunications, sensor networks and storage systems through to gaming, fintech and mobile apps.
Ithel has particular expertise in patenting computer-implemented inventions, as well as general mechanical subject matter.
