Harriet enjoys working together with clients to solve their problems to achieve their commercial goals. She has a background in physics and her broad experience in intellectual property (IP) mean that she is well placed to help clients maximise the potential of their innovations.

Harriet has a broad range of experience across a variety of mechanical, electrical and physics-related fields. She has a passion for medical and healthcare inventions, as well as interests in consumer electronics, aerospace, subsea engineering and construction equipment.

Harriet’s day-to-day work includes filing and prosecuting patent applications for a variety of clients from large multinational companies to SMEs, start-ups, universities and individual inventors.

She particularly enjoys drafting patent applications for new and exciting inventions with an aim of obtaining the most useful patent protection for her client’s needs.

Harriet holds a first-class honours degree in Physics from the University of Liverpool. She studied a wide range of topics, specialising in medical and nuclear physics in her final year.

Harriet is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and was awarded the CIPA Drafting Prize in 2023 for scoring the highest mark on the UK Drafting of Specifications final examination paper.
