William Emond

With a background in theoretical physics and working in academia for over five years, William has broad understanding of physics, with expertise in the study of particle physics and gravity. Together with his experience in writing, analysing and assessing technical documents, he is able to provide clients with tailored advice and maximise the potential of their innovations and IP.
William specialises in physics and engineering based inventions and has a special interest in particle physics and space-related technologies.
William joined the IP profession in 2024 after working as an academic researcher. He is excited in making the transition to the IP profession and is currently working on a diverse range of physics and engineering applications, from medical devices and software to novel battery technologies.
William holds a first-class Physics MSci degree from King’s College London (KCL), and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Nottingham (UoN). His doctoral studies focused on particle cosmology – the interface between the fields of particle physics and cosmology. He has held postdoctoral fellowships at UoN, Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the University of Manchester. During his academic career, William published over 15 peer-reviewed articles in internationally respected journals.
