Hugh has extensive patent and trade mark experience. During his career he has specialised in engineering with a particular interest in medical devices, aircraft technology, and automotive areas.

Hugh has represented many companies in the filing, prosecution, oppositions, and appeals at the European Patent Office (EPO). He has also travelled extensively in the Asia Pacific region to build key relationships with foreign attorneys and companies, acting for large multinational companies and foreign attorneys.

He represents Appleyard Lees as an advisor and continues to travel extensively to promote the firm.
