On July 1, 2024, the much-anticipated results of the European Qualifying Exam (EQE), held in March 2024, were released.
As a trainee patent attorney at the time, I was one of the many, nervous hopefuls, waiting for my notification.
Soon enough, I received an email from the exam secretariat notifying me that a new document was available on my EQE portal. As soon as I saw the message, a whirlwind of excitement and nerves overcame me.
I hurriedly logged into my account, my heart pounding with anticipation. There it was: the ‘Results’ document that would reveal my fate. I took a deep breath, gathered my composure, and opened the document. To my immense relief and joy, I had passed all four exams!
In the days that followed, the good news kept coming. I was thrilled to learn about the successes of my colleagues—our firm had performed exceptionally well. It was a significant relief to see that all the hard work and countless hours we had dedicated to preparing for the exams had paid off.

As I reflect on the milestone of qualifying as a European patent attorney, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to attorneys worldwide who also received positive EQE news this year. Your dedication and perseverance have truly paid off.
