Graduating from the University of Sussex with a degree in Molecular Medicine, Richard then completed his PhD in Molecular Toxicology at the University of Nottingham.
Focusing on the development of a new method of 3D cell culture that allowed the maintenance of primary liver cell phenotype, Richard’s undergraduate education led to an industry sponsored PhD.
His recent work on a large flagship EU funded Horizon2020 project allowed him to develop new alternative methods for toxicology prediction, fuelling an interest in commercial implications and benefits for businesses.
