Julia Gwilt

Julia is a Partner in our Electronics and Software team.  She specialises in software patents and inventions having complex mathematics at their core.  She also has extensive experience of oppositions before the European patent office.

Julia graduated from Cambridge University with an honours degree in mathematics and then completed a “Masters” in computer science at Ecole Centrale Paris. This background is a natural fit to her work on software-implemented inventions including cryptography and communication networks but also provides a springboard for working in other technological sectors.

Julia is a founding member of the new governance board for the PEB (Patent Examination Board) which administers the examinations for entry into the UK patent profession.  In addition to training attorneys, she is also keen to help clients understand more about IP through personalised training programs.
