Graduating with a first class honours degree (BSc) in physics and a PhD in Atomic Physics & Quantum Optics, he has also spent time as a postdoctoral research physicist at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Munich.
Before qualifying as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and as a European Patent Attorney, Andrew spent several years working as a Patent Examiner at the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO), an experience that has allowed an insight into the workings of the UK IPO and the practical impact that can have on achieving a clients’ patent goals.
Andrew now handles intellectual property (IP) protection and IP rights for clients ranging from global corporations, to universities and high-tech spin-out companies. He also works with subject matter in the fields of defence, electronics, software and general engineering, as well as registered design and unregistered design rights.
