Pippa Allen

Pippa joined Appleyard Lees in 2010 as a consultant with the chemical team. She handles work in drug discovery related fields for a group of clients for whom she has worked since 2002.

Pippa has expertise in drafting and prosecution including advising on patent strategy and third party rights, gained both as an in house industrial patent attorney, working on specific portfolios, and as an attorney in a small private practice working on a diverse range of chemical work.

Pippa entered the profession in 1986 after studying Chemistry at Imperial College, University of London, initially joining the Wellcome Research Laboratories, before moving to Sandoz International in Switzerland, and qualifying while at Shell Internationale BV in The Netherlands. From 1996 Pippa worked for a small UK based private practice, where she handled a diverse range of work originating predominantly from academia and SMEs, spanning the chemical field, with some crossover into bio-related fields. She started consulting on specific chemical projects in 2005, initially solo, and then working in collaboration with private practice.
