Simon Moodie

Simon joined Appleyard Lees in November 2008 and deals with patents in the mechanical field, as well as trademarks, designs and copyright.

Before joining Appleyard Lees, Simon spent a number of years working as a Research Engineer in the defence and civil industries, and in particular has worked for the prestigious Advanced Technology Centre of BAE systems, and for the Advanced Technology Group of Ove Arup.

Simon holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College University. He also holds a PhD at Imperial College University, which concerned the hydraulic shock phenomenon in aircraft wing-box structures caused by ballistic impact.

Simon is a student member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and has had an article published in the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys Journal.
