Nicola Thompson

Nicola deals with patents in the chemical and mechanical fields, as well as trade marks and designs. She has handled matters for a range of clients comprising private inventors, SMEs and international corporations, including UK FTSE 100 listed companies.

Nicola works in our Leeds office and is a graduate chemist with postgraduate research experience in pharmaceutics and aerosol and fluid dynamics. After spending a period of time as a senior engineer at Dyson Limited, she joined their Intellectual Property department in 2000. Nicola gained extensive experience of commercial IP at Dyson, including assisting the Head of IP during a high profile High Court patent infringement action. Nicola has more recently been seconded to cover annual leave for the Head of IP of a leading UK retailer.

Nicola holds the Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.
