Support for in-house attorneys

Our client had developed a new and very complex piece of telecommunications hardware.  This was the result of a complex and lengthy research and development program to build the next generation of equipment.  Our client needed to build a patent portfolio to protect all aspects of this, and quickly.

We sent a team of our attorneys, with the right technical background, to spend a week on-site with our client.  There we could talk in detail with all of the engineers involved and examine the hardware in detail.  This meant an efficient capture of all of the complex technical information we needed to advance the project quickly, and to reduce costs in the process.

Having a team of our attorneys there added value not just in terms of manpower – pooling our brainpower meant that different ideas could be exchanged and reviewed, and the best ones selected when considering how to build our client’s new patent portfolio.
